Juneteenth VS Reparations 







Juneteenth

The celebration of Juneteenth, by people of Afrikan descent is one of the oldest commemorations of the Civil War and the Emancipation Proclamation ending the enslavement of specifically people of African descent in the United States.

On September 22, 1862, President Abraham Lincoln issued the preliminary Emancipation Proclamation, which declared that as of January 1, 1863, all enslaved people in the states currently engaged in rebellion against the Union “shall be thenceforward, and forever free.”

Yet this document only applied to enslaved people in the Confederacy, and not to those in the border states that remained loyal to the Union. The Emancipation Proclamation itself did not end the enslavement of people of Afrikan descent in the United States. It only applied to the 11 Confederate states then at war against the Union, and not under Union control. To make emancipation permanent would take a constitutional amendment abolishing the institution of slavery itself.

The 13th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, ratified in 1865 in the aftermath of the Civil War, abolished slavery in the United States. The 13th Amendment states: “Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction.”

The reason why Juneteenth was coined was that it took many days to reach the remaining lynchpins of southern Confederate states and Cities that still legally held Melanin people in captivity. So between June 13th- and June 19th, the celebrations of emancipation were varied. On June 19th, 1865, Galveston, Texas observed the Emancipation of enslaved people of African descent.  

This year of 2021, Juneteenth as the African American Emancipation Day, which has spread across the United States and beyond, was recognized by the United States as a National Federal Holiday. Juneteenth commemorates African American freedom and emphasizes education and achievement in a week, and in some areas a month marked with celebrations, guest speakers, parades, concerts, Bar-B-Ques, and other family and social gatherings. It is a time for reflection and memorial of our Ancestors who sacrificed their liberty and lives for future generations. It is a time for self-improvement and for planning the future. Its growing popularity signifies a level of recognition, maturity, and dignity from the United States that is long overdue. In cities across the country, people of all nationalities and political philosophies, are joining hands to truthfully acknowledge a period in US history that shaped and continues to influence our society today. As we all become more sensitized to the conditions and experiences of other people in multiculturalism, can we then make significant and lasting improvements in our own society as People of Afrikan Descent?

General Order Number 3

One of General Granger’s first orders of business was to read to the people of Texas, General Order Number 3 which began most significantly with:

"The people of Texas are informed that in accordance with a Proclamation from the Executive of the United States, all slaves are free. This involves an absolute equality of rights and rights of property between former masters and slaves, and the connection heretofore existing between them becomes that between employer and hired laborer."

The celebrations that followed the reading of the Emancipation Proclamation by General Gordon Granger began a tradition that has lasted for one hundred and fifty-five years, and today is hosted in cities across the United States and beyond. The U.S. Government with the rally of many political figures of Afrikan Descent, Established Juneteenth as a National Federal Holiday. YET from 1619- to 1865, then to 2021- the United States has yet to recover or even Acknowledge that Reparations must be delivered, for the Utter debasements and exploitations that are still happening in the United States to people of Afrikan descent. BLACK LIVES MATTER TOO!

Many People of Afrikan Descent have settled with living in a "burning house", as Dr. M. L. King Jr. spoke to Harry Belafonte: “We have fought hard and long for integration, as I believe we should have, and I know that we will win. But I've come to believe we're integrating into a burning house.

In his march to Washington for Jobs and Justice he continues: 
“Five score years ago, a great American, in whose symbolic shadow we stand today, signed the Emancipation Proclamation.... But one hundred years later, the Negro still is not free. One hundred years later, the life of the Negro is still sadly crippled by the manacles of segregation and the chains of discrimination. One hundred years later the Negro lives on a lonely island of poverty in the midst of a vast ocean of material prosperity. One hundred years later the Negro is still languished in the corners of American society and finds himself in exile in his own land. And so we’ve come here today to dramatize a shameful condition.”

He continues, “In a sense, we’ve come to our nation’s capital to cash a check. When the architects of our republic wrote the magnificent words of the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence (Yeah), they were signing a promissory note to which every American was to fall, heir...  It is obvious today that America has defaulted on this promissory note insofar as her citizens of color are concerned.”

So it seems with the formal Federal recognition of Juneteenth, we are expected to take a holiday as (or in lieu of) Reparations. This is 2021. It has been 156 more years since the 13th amendment was signed with the strategy of legally criminalizing people of Afrikan descent for the purpose of Genocide or returning them to human trafficking for enslavement. Now we have the Prison Industrial Complex, The working poor for slave wage jobs, The hideous crimes still occurring in the Foster Care system, Sex trafficking, and the forever wars of the military-industrial complex.


 The US Government owes a debt, not only for the capture, human trafficking, and abject abuse of people of Afrikan Descent but for the Institutional systemic racism, Jim Crow Laws, Redlining/ segregation, and inequity in the United States across the board.  Many have made great statements about Juneteenth, that should be reflected upon and followed.  Yet, Why do we even care to participate, in any form, on this particular Negropeon day- of Juneteenth- on June 13th, 14th, 15th, 16th, 17th, 18th, or 19th? The Emancipation Proclamation was only a political and war tool, drafted to halt the secession of the Confederates in the south, from the Union of Colonizers from Britain, by crippling the South from their harvest exports. Even though many people of Afrikan Descent and many who are nations who were here in North America long before the year 1492, who fought on BOTH sides of the Civil War. Enslaved African American descendants have NEVER received our 40 acres and a mule. 

The Indian Removal Act was signed into law by President Andrew Jackson on May 28, 1830. This Act authorized the president to grant lands west of the Mississippi in exchange for Indian lands within existing state borders. A few tribes went peacefully, but many resisted the relocation policy. So this was going on before the Civil War.

During the Indian removal by the US Government, people of Afrikan Descent were thrown off of the Dawes rolls, or our records were burned down to remove our status as Native Americans. 
We have yet to see ANY Reparations for people of Afrikan descent recognized as a nation or ethnic group. 

Many of our Ancestors were (and are Still) the cash crop commodity for exploitation by the United States. The Integration/Desegregation and Assimilation policies of the US only opened the gateway for free-range enslavement through sharecropping and Jim Crow Laws that were enacted as a backlash of the Confederates. So the Confederate plantation owners were paid our restitution and reparations, and they are now creating a mass resurgence in the United States with the money that moonshiners made creating Ethanol fuels and grain Alcohol for COVID-19 sanitation products. This led to the January 6th Attempted Coo on the United States Capital. Many people of Afrikan descent are still sharecropping, as the working poor on a quicksand foundation of low unlivable wages and Government benefits. Many are just cash cows, still renting someone else's white-flight abandoned house and many still have Redlining and sundown laws still attached to the warranty deeds. Black Afrikan Americans are invisible and voiceless.

Yes, our Ancestors, who were people of Afrikan Descent, fought in and survived the Civil War, pooled their money together to build educational institutions, and purchased Farmlands that many were later lynched off of. Many of these educational institutions are now underutilized and are contesting to remove their HBCU status.  

As the Human Rights movement for People of Afrikan descent changed to a Civil rights movement for feminists and other fringe groups, The desegregation/ Integration of our communities and the bombing and burning of our Black-owned Businesses began.  Now Black people Consume from Integration to assimilate into an alien US culture that rejects Afrikan American influences. Now People of Afrikans Descent wear their clothes, use their names, practice their religions, Teach their own children miseducation and pseudo-sciences, eat their toxic foods that were grown on stolen land, drink their liquor, and smoke their poisons, drive their cars, put on their fake fingernails, eyelashes, and weave/wigs- of the very people who have oppressed and are still pursuing the genocide of people of Afrikan descent. They have locked up our children in institutions, to be the wards of the state, They have executed our children for crimes that they did not commit. They Abduct our children to be used for organ harvesting, in science experiments, and bomb and weapons testing. Their arts industries have even exploited and changed the keynotes and hertz range of our music. They have exposed us to their clinical trials for terminal diseases, experimental surgeries, and vaccines. They have even changed the time of the day (DST) to disrupt our natural Circadian rhythm and lower our immune systems! 








We are better off to celebrate the legacy of our Great Ancestars on our own Sacred Days- of the Solstices and Equinoxes... 
The Ausarian Resurrection- The longest day of the year is a REAL AND NATURAL EVENT!  Occurring Every June 20th, 21st and 22nd when the Sun stands still for 3 days. 

YES We need our own times for reflection. We should be fasting and cleansing our bodies in preparation of the Ausarian Solstice to prepare for an abundant harvest in the Autumnal equinox, where we celebrate Umoja Karamu. We must GROW OUR OWN FOODS! Appropriate our own water, CREATE OUR OWN Natural healing MEDICINES, PRACTICE OUR OWN WEAPONS FOR DEFENSE. 

We must release the martyred prisoners of War who are still the cash commodity and human clinical trial and sexual abuse victims.
We must TAKE our Reparations. Freedom cannot be given- It MUST be TAKEN! Yes I am an advocate for our own Nationhood on our own land RIGHT HERE IN THE AMERICAS! 
We have lived under this Maritime Law Pirate ship of white supremacy for too long! 

COVID-19 IS ONLY THE BEGINNING OF OUR TRIALS! WE BETTER KNUCKLE UP! BLACK FAMILIES MATTER!

Afrikan Awake To Teach The Youth

African Awake! Teach the Youth

What are we doing as Afrikan Awake conscious people to engage our youth? Are we raising and encouraging our Heru KRSTs, like Auset and Tehuti did, for Heru- to model and memorize after our own strong Goddess Queen Mothers and God Kings in spiritual Ki -Chakra Kundalini of our own Afrikan Culture? Our youth are our Indigo Golden Seeds- Their Spirits need a conscious outlet of expression unclouded by invader mentality and the Matrix of invader corporatakrazy- to grow up unplugged. Fail to plan- plan to fail.
Living consciously is not only about knowing the Glory of Our-Story (history) of our Ancient Ancestors. We must breathe new life back into our Ancestors by cultivating a living creative spiritual lifestyles!
How many of our families are naming their infants and newly born conscious souls, after a spiritual name that aligns with their destiny?
How many even know their Destiny and their Health, Career and Relationships from a spiritual Elder?
How many conscious families Meditate, Pray together or practice Breathing, Martial arts, Massage, Listen to music together, or even, play, sing, dance, draw or paint together?
Do you read to your children? What choices of books do you share?
Do you have vision boards in common to envision a place together in your future?
How many of our families EAT and drink together? What are we feeding our youth? Are we growing our own foods and healing herbs? Know that the Mind Soul and Body are connected.
There are now an abundance of Alternative healing resources available for people to live prosperously.
Do we celebrate the seasons of life- The Equinoxes and Solstices?
Do we take nature walks and commune with the universe like Stargazing, Sun watching, Moongazing visiting spiritual centers like mounds or caves?
Do we bless our homes and new businesses with a Spiritual Elder who can cleanse and bring good spirits to your environments? We should employ and seek the counsel of our elders in all new matters and concerns...




took my Grand Prince- who I named Heru to the Nelson Atkins Museum and Showed him the sculptures of his namesake- Heru, Auset and Ausar. I named them right in front of everyone and debunked the "Isis" "Osiris" "Horus" Titles.

My Prince Heru is a Grower at the Amen Ankh Urban Farm Cooperative and is learning, meditating, creating and reading at the AMEN PAR ANKH Sacred Temple of Life. He is a Naturalist, a talented Artist and Recycler.

What are the issues to Heal the Hood?    

  • Youth empowerment and building a revolutionary sustainable way of life through local production and home cottage industry
  • Gang and Underground economy truce.
  • Building an anti-poverty and employment and vocational movement for the Urban At-Risk Youth, Prison re-entry populations and low income people out of work;
  • Building a mass movement against racist police terror and brutality, and to end racial profiling;
         Fighting School to mass imprisonment of our youth, and people of color, which is crippling families and their communities.

         How to organize an autonomy chapter in your city to do revolutionary grassroots organizing.

 Who should come to Amen Par Ankh?

 Activists, educators, students, workers, and many others, in fact, everyone who has looked at the problems of unemployment, poverty, infant mortality, police murder and brutality, and other issues concentrated in The black community, and said to themselves: “There has to be an answer!” Well, there is, the Black people must organize their own mass movement and must direct our voted officials and those in political offices, corporations, and other institutions. Yet, we must all be willing to learn new ideas and hear new voices and from new leadership and youth, not heard from before. We need real solutions, instead of the political dead ends distractions and busy work of the past few years that have been presented. Kansas City needs this new path, to jumpstart people's power structures in the urban areas that can lead to the building of new social movements all over the Americas. This is a worker's movement, which anyone in our community can attend if they come to work to solve our own problems.

* You should come because you want solutions to what you see in our communities every day and on the nightly news: unemployed young men on the corner; dead youth at the hands of each other or from the police; massive numbers of Black people thrown into jail and prisons over the drug trade, families overcoming nutritional deprivation and poverty, and other issues we see but don’t understand there is something we can do about this. We are talking about building solutions to our problems: a new campaign about police brutality and terrorism that includes community self-defense; a mass movement against poverty and unemployment that includes building a Black solidarity economy, at a time when our community is suffering from depression levels of unemployment. We need to talk about how we build a mass movement for youth empowerment in order to turn the youth into community organizers and agents for social change. We will talk about a mass community-based movement against racial profiling and deadly police and auxiliary police attacks on Black youth; and finally, we need to talk about how to build a movement for Autonomy in your city, in order to apply what you have learned at this conference.

G.R.O.W.W Girl- Teach a Girl- Heal a Nation*, is designed to foster the interest of girls in the 3rd -12th grades in pursuing a future career in (STEAM) Science, Technology, Engineering, Industrial Arts Mathematics disciplines. We offer weekly, weekend, summer workshops, as well as one-day Special events at the Amen Ankh Urban Farm. We offer hands-on activities that focus on how people in Agricultural fields help make the world a better place.

Our Mission: To cultivate the core nucleus of self-esteem, Self Knowledge, ambition, creativity, , Exposing young queens to STEAM(Science Technology, Engineering, industrial Arts, Mathematics) Careers, health, nutrition and wellness, Homesteading, Green Environmental  and ecologically sustainable initiatives,  in our young girls. To foster leadership, values, resilience. To generate fiscal fitness, Entrepreneurial and business savvy. To carry them into adulthood, Motherhood family and community to complete the circle of life.

Our Vision: To Equip Young Girls with self knowledge of Body mind and spirit and to reconnect to Natural Beauty and Wonder of nature and the Planet. To create a natural holistic connection to STEAM Career fields and reunite a Gnome of interdependent families.

We Have a parent orientation by Appointment. Our Girls meet Weekly on Wellness Wednesdays from 4pm-6:00pm and Saturdays 10:00am-1:00pm.

Sessions and small gatherings of parents, and youth, looking for an open environment to share their experiences and receive relevant family support, in  building family relationships, Loving discipline, Consumer Savvy, Nutrition and Health. Family menbers will be offered Family Consultations. We will use examples from the book: Nation Building How To: by Sasteh Meter Mosley
We will also engage in Homesteading, Industrial Arts and Crafts, Light carpentry and minor repair,

Financial Literacy, Eco-Nom-ics, Fiscal Fitness, Entrepreneur development, Career Shadowing, Internship Opportunities and more.

You GROWW Girl offers youth programs for girls of all ages, Wellness Careers survey, Recreation, Life Hacking, Environmental safety, Stress Relief, Peer Crisis Intervention, Grief Counseling, Self Defense, Natural Cosmetics, Body Awareness, Family matters, Basic Life Support, Plant Identification, Food safety and Preserving, and nutrition courses to engage Family Members, Parents and their children. 

Skills for healthy lifestyles, cook-outs and contests, shopping Savvy are discussed throughout the sessions. This course teaches families how to use fresh foods and herbs for healing, and healthy recipes and meal planning on a tight budget. We will have demonstrations on how to prepare healthy meals and participants are given the opportunity to cook their own healthy meal after the demonstration.

Our Girls also assist with our seminars and workshops;  Entrepreneurs, Coding, Rites of passage, Cultural Performance Arts, Family Heritage, and History, an achievement for success, Sign Language, Role Modeling, Identity and Values, Our Crowns, Outdoor Journeys, Gardening, Herbal Knowledge, Vocational Career Awareness, Bee Keeping, Cultural Ceremonies, FAA, 4H, Leather crafts, Costume Design, and head wrapping, Jewelry making metaphysics,  Food preservation, African Cultural Arts, Sewing, Quilting, and hand Crafts, Mandala art sessions, Music, Rhythm and Poetry, Artist to Activism, Adenike's Art Reduce Reuse Recycle, Envisioning boards, Healing Mandalas.  All activities are designed for parents to teach and work with their children at home, drawing on the philosophical underpinnings of the curriculum that children learn hands-on.

Building Bridges Between Parents and Their Children's Education

 

I was asked by Kihei to comment on our parents and education in Kansas City. The following are some points as a Special Education Teacher in the Kansas City School district:@ Kihei-




  • We must revolutionize the way we think about education for our youth! As parents We must return to “Dynastic” thinking. What I mean by this is- passing on a heritage and leading by example. This is how the elite think in provision for their children. “PRO-VISION”  -Visioning for the Long term future with expectations and outcomes! I’m talking about 10-20-50year plans for the outcomes and expectations for their youth and their children’s place in their family business, neighborhood and ECO-NOME.

  • PARENTS NEED TO TEACH THEIR OWN VALUES, FAITH SYSTEMS AND HISTORY- Learn and Practice a value system like- the Nguzo Saba- (Principals Seven)... Celebrate Umoja Karamu AT HOME Celebrate Kwanzaa AT HOME-

  • THEY MUST READ TO THEIR CHILDREN- AND let their children catch them reading- by example- talk about books, Find Local Black writers and authors, and talk about current events in the news. This helps with values and critical thinking. If the parent is not teaching and passing on their values- some one else is/will. Buy the Final Call(There is a man standing right in the street to give you knowledge and/or a delicious bean pie!) and other local black newspapers and magazines. Places like The Urban League give away magazines free of charge.

  • WE NEED TO HOMESCHOOL! I want to start an underground homescholar network system!

  • The only way the ELITE would put their child in a boarding school or institution, is after they personally build the institution with a state of the art Environment and materials, equipping their child with what they need-TO LEAD- Not to follow. When we think about accreditation- That should be the PARENTS going through the school with a fine tooth comb- From the toilets, the Cafeteria, Classrooms and Teachers.

  • High Expectations and belief in our youth- When you have parents, teachers and administration that have low to no expectation for their youth and family- “every bodies grunging for the dollar and surviving from day to day in a “by-design-system” We were too quick to decapitate the heads of the giant district. We have gone through so many superintendents- but we were too quick to replace one with another who may be taking under-the-table deals to sell out our youth. We fail to acknowledge that when the head comes off the body falls and our children suffer from the collateral damages.

  • We forget that our youth are learning from EVERYTHING and EVERYONE -ALL THE TIME!

  • When the children come home to a latch-key world of an empty unsupervised house with Acidic Chicken nuggets(pink slime)- “?Chips-salt and grease” and Cinnamon rolls from da corna-lika-stow- or poptarts - potpies or some other frozen microwave meal of GMO playfood… When Mom & Pops are outa sight- the child is outa they mind- you have “Da katz away da mice will play” situations- Drug use, delinquency, violent desensitizing videogames, Sex- pregnancy- HIV, mind-numbing TV couch-potato- childhood-diabetes-obesity beasts. All under a truculent background of misogyny-ated message music dope buzz beats and Rap... It's a setting for gang indoctrination.

  • We have Amen Par Ankh(Sacred Temple of Life) on my block... Any scholar can come by my door and get free fruit and tutoring... Just by word of mouth they come by...

  • We need Teachers–who are invested in the neighborhood’s development to teach our children- how to return –Come right back and work in the neighborhood to take ownership and re-develop community.

  • So Parents need to stop thinking about (getting their child- “OUT of the ghetto”) “Work to live” NOT “live to work”.

  • Another issue; Putting a child into college with only a remedial background is - like playing our children in a lottery – 9x out of 10 you lose -setting our children up for failure- THESE COLLEGES KNOW THIS and take the child in anyway- use their money for remedial classes then kick them out with a debt for life.

  • I would like to encourage the Parents who sit down with their families at least once a week and have a family morning, day, night, weekend- lock-in- turn off all electronic media- and eat a home cooked meal- Our children need MORE fresh fruits and vegetables in their bodies to grow properly- not milk. So a fresh salad or smoothie... -to eat and talk with NO distractions. Have a smoothie breakfast- or Sunday dinner with Elders to teach family history, values and establish goals and objectives together...

  • Go outside and enjoy the weather and observe life around, Look at the moon and read the stars... take a walk- go to a park,

  • Sit with them in a court room, bring them to a bank, or any career vocational setting, let them see black business owners, talk to automotive, or lawn cutting business owner, a black judge or attorney,

  • Visit the elderly and volunteer in a nursing home, Community Garden, Urban Farm or Hospital ... 
  • Teachers should be identifying our struggling children not only academically but socially for the students success... It is a war zone in the neighborhoods in many cases, with child custody issues and 2 youth dying every week...
     
  • We NEED Counselors on staff for crisis counseling. when a youth dies in the community- it effects all of the people who knew that youth...

"It takes a village to raise a child"... this may be an over saturated Afrikan Proverb- (And I personally don't like the term "village" to describe aboriginal or indigenous communities) - I like Knome-Gnome Nome , Council of Elders- "The Griots" or as Sasteh uses "the Klan" (is this upstaging Kanye West or what-LOL) the "X-Klan" lol... But my point is - We need to help the parents and/or single parents who are overwhelmed or dysfunctional. - "We are only as strong as the weakest link" also comes to mind. You Can't just ignore the whole child and just isolate academics... We are Mind, Body, Soul and Spirit...
