WE INDICT ALL WESTERN IMPERIALIST FOR CRIMES AGAINST LIFE AND THE ENVIRONMENT

US Imperialists are NOT America.

This is the United States- NOT America. Racism is Real in the US. The real mass murders and attempted genocides that have taken place on Indigo peoples in this US race-supremacy system are the manifestations of Pirates practicing maritime law...The U.S. commissioned criminal organizations under the Trilateral Commission that have promoted the expansion of Great Briton, in North America and the Latin Vatican in the southern American regions. They are the real mass murderers that have exacted their tortures on Indigo peoples in this US race-supremacy system for centuries.  The US is like an abusive
America is the Land and pre-colonial inhabitants that were mass murdered so that Great Briton and the Vatican could expand. America is occupied by people who were dying of their own Un-hygienic state of disease, and plagues after they destroyed the Twa/Khoisan who initially established Europe. For almost 1000 years, the Moors civilized these cave beasts, then broke the spell of the dark ages, and brought them to the American Islands, The Moors ignored the warning signs from the Twa, who left these Neanderthals under the spell of the Dark Ages and the flat earth, which contained the Neanderthals in fear of not endeavoring into other worlds... Neanderthals are not indigenous Americans. They are only US colonizers who are Mass Murdering Pirates, occupying the Americas under maritime law. They have spawned across the planet, just like in Australia, Hawaii, New Guinea, and South Africa, and the list goes on! . The real "Americans" are people of color who have been oppressed, subordinated, disenfranchised, and mass murdered, to make room for these Neanderthals to establish their expansion of the Vatican, into South America and England, in the north, with maritime law. The US is part of this Trilateral Commission. The US is a Kkorpratakrazy. The US is just a conglomerate of Corporations. POTUS is just the chairman of the board of directors. Each Senator is an autonomous corporate CEO.

Nu Is Water- The Source of Life- Drink!

Nu is Water The Source of Life!

Nuta Beqsu AmenRa 2016

Nu is the KMT Ntr (Sacred Principle) for Water. She is associated with the primordial waters of the creation of the Universe and the waters of the womb of motherhood. She is the waters of life that MA - NUT the Celestial Universe, expresses all living existence.
She is the vital essence in All living things! So as we are born of water from our mothers, we must have water to sustain our existence.

We pour Libations to our Aku (ancestors) as a Sacred Ceremony, Blessings, Anointings, Baptism and Purifications.
We sing and speak to Nu our water to transfer energy vibrations to enhance our life.

Water is Life! Water IS ALIVE!

Water is more than for Drinking, Cooking, Bathing, or Cleaning. Water is alive! Water is Intelligent, Water has memory. Water is Electro-Magnetic, Water is Crystal, Water has it's own spirit, Water responds to you. The water molecule is H2O two Hydrogen Gas molecules and one Oxygen molecule. Separately, these are 2 gas molecules coming together to make something wet.

Make an Offering to Mama Wata Before Time Runs Out!

Ma, Nu, Tefnut, Auset, Yemaya, Oshun are the many names for Mother Waters used in the Afrakan Diaspora. Over time, the Mami Wata has become blended in cultures and religions, influenced by Hinduism, Islam and Christianity. Shrines and Altars glisten among the paintings and sculptures that depict her with her colors of blue and white, in the waters as a mermaid-like form, flowing hair or grasping a snake.
*Ma is one of the oldest names of the Most High source, creator. She is the Milk source or represented as the Cow in the Milky Way Galaxy. This Elemental power and presence of the universe is reflected in Ankh- The Womb of life, She has a special relationship with Ra the Sun, and her descendants are Mary, Marie, and Mason. She also lives as the name of:
*Nu the Eternal primordial waters and fountain of life. The Black Womb of Ma+N Is known as the vortex of the spirit that is transformed and transitioned into the empirical world.
*Tefnut is the primordial elemental power of moisture and atmosphere. She is depicted as the dew, firmament, steam, mist, fog or the clouds.
*Auset (later Isis) is representative of the primordial waters and mysteries of Ankh the womb of life, birth Breast milk and family. She is the Kandaki Mother, wife and co-regent of Ausar, her husband, and ruler of Amenta, heaven. After Auset's husband was murdered and destroyed by his jealous brother Set, Auset was able to conceive her sun Heru who would move to vanquish and restore the benevolent rule and kingdom of heaven in the world.
*Oshun is the mother of the fresh waters, She flows into the rivers, lakes, streams and ponds
*Yemaya, is known as one of the "Seven African Powers." Yemaya is an Orisha, originally from the traditional religious practices of the Yoruba people in Africa. Orishas are sometimes described as the emissaries of Olodumare, or God Almighty.
Over the past decades, Yemaya has become prominent in the Afro-American religions and other forms of African American diasporic spirituality which can be found in various countries of the Caribbean and Latin America as well as parts of the USA South.

Here and Now

In this modern-day of oil fracking, The abomination of the Dakota Access pipeline, The open genocide in Flint Michigan with Mercury and Lead Pollution in water, The Gulf water pollution in the aftermath of Katrina in Louisiana, the death of the Great Lakes, Missouri, and Mississippi rivers, we are suffering from a core assault on our lives and the Ecological environment. We must be aware of the close ties that bind us to the life of this planet, and the continual assault of the environment. Our water is used not only for drinking, bathing, cooking, and cleaning.  Finding clean air, water and food are fundamental to our existence and survival as a species.  It is fundamentally important to have access to clean water, and learn how to preserve and filter clean your water, We must use Alkaline waters to raise the health of our bodies. Most Important, we must re-establish our relationship with Mother Water.

People seem to carry bottled water everywhere they go these days. In fact, it has become the second most popular drink (behind soft drinks). This is a disturbing statistic, since sugary soda, especially those containing high fructose corn syrup, is a huge dehydrating health hazard, that raises the risk of obesity, stroke, and other heart problems. However, these dangers can be avoided if people choose to just drink water- which doesn’t have negative side effects. So, let's put the sugary stuff to the side and make water the number one drink of choice. The benefits really are endless. The old suggestion to drink eight glasses a day is our best guideline.

There are plenty of reasons to drink water. In fact, drinking water (either plain or in the form of other fluids or foods) is an essential nutrient to your health. When your water intake does not equal your output, you can become dehydrated. Fluid losses are accentuated in warmer climates, during strenuous exercise, in high altitudes, and in older adults, whose sense of thirst may not be as sharp.

"Through the posterior pituitary gland, your brain communicates with your kidneys and tells it how much water to excrete as urine or hold onto for reserves," says Guest, who is also an adjunct professor of medicine at Stanford University.

When you're low on fluids, the brain triggers the body's thirst mechanism. And unless you are taking medications that make you thirsty, Guest says, you should listen to those cues and get yourself a drink of water, Coconut water, or Real Fresh natural juices -- anything but alcohol.
Most people are suffering from levels of dehydration, most of the day, usually, a lot of the pains in our bodies are usually attributed to dehydration. The first thing a hospital will do for someone who has been admitted into a hospital is tagging them, then introduce a saline IV.

Basics

https://www.cdc.gov/healthywater/drinking/nutrition/

Getting enough water every day is important for your health. Healthy people meet their fluid needs by drinking before they get thirsty. Most of your fluid needs are met through the water and beverages you drink. However, you can get some fluids through the foods that you eat. For example, broth soups and foods with high water content such as Coconuts, Watermelon, Celery, or other melons can contribute to fluid intake.

Water helps your body:

  • Keep your temperature normal
  • Lubricate and cushion joints
  • Protect your spinal cord and other sensitive tissues
  • Get rid of wastes through urination, perspiration, and bowel movements
  • Your body needs more water when you are:
  • In hot climates
  • More physically active
  • Running a fever
  • Having diarrhea or vomiting

If you think you are not getting enough water, these tips may help:

  • Carry a water bottle for easy access when you are at work or running errands.
  • Freeze some freezer-safe water bottles. Take one with you for cold water all day long.
  • Choose water instead of sugar-sweetened beverages. This can also help with weight management. Substituting water for one 20-ounce sugar-sweetened drink will save you about 240 calories. For example, during the school day students should have access to drinking water, giving them a healthy alternative to sugar-sweetened beverages.
  • Choose water when eating out. Generally, you will save money and reduce calories.
  • Add a wedge of lime or lemon to your water. This can help Alkalinize and improve the taste to help you drink more water than you usually do

Many are trading pitchers of beer for glasses of water. Whether it’s a New Year’s resolution to drink more H2O to just plain Hot and thirsty, here are some convincing reasons to Drink Water Down
*Fluid balance

Roughly 60 percent of the body is made of water. Drinking enough H2O maintains the body’s fluid balance, which helps transport nutrients in the body, regulate body temperature, digest food, and more. Drinking-Water Helps Maintain the Balance of Body Fluids. Your body is composed of about 60% water. The functions of these bodily fluids include digestion, absorption, circulation, creation of saliva, transportation of nutrients, and maintenance of body temperature.

*Calorie control

Forget other diet tricks—drinking water could also help with weight loss. Numerous studies have found a connection between water consumption and losing a few pounds. The secret reason? Water simply helps people feel full, and as a result, consumes fewer calories.
Muscle fuel

*Sweating

At the gym, sweating causes muscles to lose water. And when the muscles don’t have enough water, they get tired . So for extra energy, try drinking water to push through that final set of squats.
Clearer skin

Certain toxins in the body can cause the skin to inflame, which results in clogged pores and acne . While science saying water makes the skin wrinkle-free is contradictory, water does flush out these toxins and can reduce the risk of pimples.

*Kidney function

Our kidneys process 200 quarts of blood daily, sifting out waste and transporting urine to the bladder. Yet, kidneys need enough fluids to clear away what we don’t need in the body. Let's drink to that!
Productivity boost

In order to really focus, a glass of water could help people concentrate and stay refreshed and alert.

*Fatigue buster

Move over coffee—water can help fight those tired eyes too . One of the most common symptoms of dehydration is tiredness. Just another reason to go for the big gulp! (Not the 7-11 kind.)
Hangover help

If alcohol has got the best of you, help a hangover with a glass of water to hydrate the body and stop that pounding headache.

*Pain prevention

A little water can really go a long way. Aching joints and muscle cramps and strains can all occur if the body is dehydrated.
Keep things flowing

*Elimination

Nobody wants to deal with digestion issues. Luckily, drinking enough water adds fluids to the colon which helps make things move smoothly.

*Sickness fighter

Water may help with decongestion and dehydration, helping the body bounce back when feeling under the weather. Just beware—drinking fluids hasn’t been scientifically proven to beat colds in one swoop, so don’t swap this for a trip to the doctor or other cold remedies.

*Brain boost

A study in London found a link between students bringing water into an exam room and better grades, suggesting H2O promotes clearer thinking. While it’s unclear if drinking the water had anything to do with a better score, it doesn’t hurt to try it out!
Bottoms Up—Your Action Plan
http://greatist.com/health/reasons-to-drink-water

The amount of water that people need per day is up for debate, but studies suggest adults need nine to 16 cups of H2O. However, this number varies depending on activity level, age, and how much water people are consuming in coffee, tea, or water-rich veggies and fruit. Here’s how to keep yourself hydrated: Begin by drinking a glass of water as soon as you wake up, and 30 minutes before eating any big meal. (This will help control appetite, too.) Get in the habit of keeping a water bottle on hand at all times. And if the taste beings to bore, spice up the taste buds with a squeeze of citrus to the glass! Before you know it, all the benefits of water will be right at your fingertips… and in your body.

Black Woke Environmentalists

Black Woke Environmentalists

How can we become truly spiritually conscious, woke, and live our deepest realities, while we live with what is going on with the Environment of Mother Eartha and all its connections?

Who are we?

What is our true nature?

What is consciousness?

What is really going on in the environment?

And what are we really doing?

The Indigo Melanin Spiritual Consciousness movement must be the Environmental movement.
As we reclaim our lives from the onslaught of invasion of the Civilizations of our Ancestors and our ancient cultures. Imperialism, Capitalism racism and the irresponsible disruption of our planet from, impersonal, millitarized, disjointed industrialized Corporations, and anti-lifestyles, which fragments us from the knowledge of our deepest part of ourselves and our connection to the universe.

Our Ancient Sages have taught us that;
We are ALL Connected to the cosmos of the universe, and the cosmology of the planet.

"As above, So Below"

The environmental and food movement is ultimately a spiritual conscious movement. As Souls having a human experience, our carnal bodies are ultimately connected to Air, Water, Food, land, and the Sun. Our bodies are ultimately dependent upon the Sun, and this amazing planet, and ultimately in this planet's relationship with our solar system and the universe(Yoniverse/Wombiverse). We must be stewards, first, with our own bodies, then with each other as human beings, and finally with all life energy of this living planet...

"We Are Souls Having a Human Experience"

So, the food movement must be about cultivating human food, in as much as it is about cultivating human consciousness.

Culture IS food! As we Cultivate, collect our seeds to replant and return to our regional foods to recieve their mineral, nutrients, and healing sources. we must return to propitualtion to the environment that we borrow from our children, grandchildren and the natural ecosystem

We are re-cultivating our connections with all creation, Living in harmony with Creation, Using local healing systems, like Meditation, QiGong, Yoga, as well as permaculture methods for Gardening, Gathering, Gleaning, Homesteading, Farming, and Harvesting, to connect with the KRST consciousness deep within us. So, the food movement is at root, a spiritual movement for humanity, unconsciously working to reclaim its consciousness amidst the onslaught of human unconsciousness.

It is about humanity reclaiming its birthright to peace, wholeness, and its own completeness as individual and collective beings as much as it is about human sustainability, the Air, Water, Trees, Plants, Oceans, the Bees, Butterflies, and other insects, Rivers, Birds, and Aquatic Animals, and their habitat. The Conscious, environmental, and Food Movement is about food justice and feeding ourselves locally, healthy nutritious foods, in a sustainable way with the environment we presently live in, as well as we return to our own cultural food varieties. Abolishing the GMO clone Food deserts. Our people have been displaced, from the equator's tropical regions, to be dispersed by colonialism and Imperialism.

So our spiritual consciousness is ultimately about reclaiming our true divinity while raising our human form to it's highest state of consciousness! We must be stewards and advocates against the environmental invasion and rape of nature for resources and the GMO modification and cloning of our food. as well as the ongoing enslavement of humans and animals.

"The Kingdom of Heaven Is Within!"

Cultivating and connecting to the collective consciousness, to live in harmony and perfect peace with all creation, here on Earth, rather than subsisting on capitalism and industrialized foods and polluted resources in an unsustainable and destabilizing environment.

As we over-consume and waste food, and resources, produced in ways that destroy ecological habitats, we create a shift in the entire planet, the "butterfly effect." For instance, we still move our bodies with fossil-fueled cars, buses, trains, planes, cruise ships, and other forms of transportation which destroy the homeostasis of the planet. Our overuse of non-biodegradable plastics, drugs, and chemicals, industrial waste, inorganic disposable diapers and pads, non-biodegradable clothing, home construction materials, Electric, radio, microwave, technology etc., and everything about the so-called desirable consumeristic capitalistic way of life is unsustainable and is destroying the environment. Over-consumption, over-waste, and impulse in fossil-fueled transportation must terminate...

This unconscious human activity is destroying the very nature, world, on which we depend on to live.  The Environmental movement is then an effort to save ourselves by reconnecting with the deepest wisdom, consciousness, intelligence, knowledge, and peace that lies within us, that is our birthright, our essence, who we are at the core, but from which we are becoming more and more disconnected. Our Ancient Indigo Descendants and Ancestors, paid Propitiation and reparation for any resources, that we used, with an attitude of humble gratitude. We did not take, rob, steal, debase, explode and/or waste.

The Indigo Melanin Spiritual Movement is the Environmental movement, actually orchestrated by life consciousness itself, rather than a movement constructed by mankind, to restore order, peace and consciousness to the planet. The Aquarian Age is Arising! Humanity is reconnecting with nature as it should.

The Rocks ARE Crying out!

Artist Visionary Cyrus Kabiru Is Breathing New Life From His Surroundings

Artist Visionary Cyrus Kabiru is breathing new life into his surroundings.

A self-taught sculptor and painter, Kabiru is crafting visually striking artwork from abandoned refuse he collects from the streets of the Kenyan capital.

"When I woke up every morning, the first thing I'd see was trash," recalls Kabiru, whose childhood home faced a garbage heap where all of Nairobi's waste was dumped in Kenya. "I used to say to my dad that when I grow up, I want to give trash a second chance."

And that's exactly what he went on to do.

Cyrus Kabiru's Optical Art is the most fascinating use of re-purposed materials. As the eyes are the light of the soul, Kabiru has reflected and transported the discarded technology of the western world into a bold transmorgrification.

Using wires, spoons and bottle tops, his artistry gains a new lease of life for found refuse materials as vital components of his art pieces. His art depicts the concept of looking at the world through rose colored glasses. He has been able to see trash as treasure, yet more to the idea of peering through the looking glasses and seeing the majic of life and environment.

Kabiru has created other pieces besides his Optical art...

We all have an accountability to the planet. All of the trash, like dirty water going down the drain effect the planet in another part of the world. These pieces of plastic, plastic bottles, plastic wrappers, plastic medicine containers, bottle tops, Plastic Cigarette lighters, foam meat trays, medical viales and tubing, Latex gloves, spent diabetes needles, broken television monitors, shoe foam inserts, spent batteries, Polyester, acrylic and nylon clothing, soda cans, water bottles, broken television monitors, car parts etc, etc.

PLASTIC DOES NOT BIODEGRADE BACK INTO THE ENVIRONMENT! They represent our toxic waste and a gigantic carbon footprint from each individual, in a consumer society. So many of these plastic fragments are eaten by birds and toxic fluids are consumed by fish. So many animals are choking, suffocating and caught in plastic.
This is the view of Cyrus Kibiru. Since his childhood he had the view of a garbage mountain of emperialistic conspicuous consumerism waste. Through all of the toxic slop, he has made something beautiful.

Amen Par Ankh is A Movement of Gnomes

Amen Par Ankh is a Movement of Gnomes

January 5, 2014 at 7:23pm

Amen Par Ankh is a Movement of Gnomes. We call on all aboriginal people of the planet to join us to honor and fulfill our ancestors to protect the land, air, water, and aether. We must be stewards to the earth and repair the violations to the environment and live in peace and in the spirit of justice to protect Nu Nut Geb-Ta Mother Earth. The purpose in creating this gathering is to share in the knowledge of Aboriginal People of this Planet in who they really are.
Our Ancient Ancestors inhabited the Americas before many of the modern Native American Tribes were established. The Ancients were not described by any of the words and misnomers given by mundane society, so why should we go by them? We are the Ancient Ones! Who we are is very imperative in knowing our Ancient Nationality, Culture, Language, Heritage, and Legacy! We are the family of the Olmec, Aztec, Mayan, Washita, Yamasee, Iroquois, Seminoles, Black Foot, Cherokee, Choctaw, Natchez, Creek, Tainos, Arawaks, Caribs, Ciboneys, and other peoples who are considered to be the offspring of the Ancient Indigenous Ones. India is included from the Black Untouchables and the Hindustan(modern day India, Pakistan, and Uzbekistan). We are the Aborigines of Australia. The Ancients are Spiritual shamans and Mystics. The Ancient Indigenous People built the great pyramids and mounds in Amarukah, Amexem(sc Americas), and globally where these pyramids and mounds can be found! We did not arrive in the Americas by slave ships like the enslaved Africans, for we were already here in the West before the palefaces arrived! We are the Heru Indigo Children living around the 14 pieces of Ausar.
We know that there are many records of evidence of our presence here. It is time that we return to the Spiritual Ways of our ancient ancestors, who walked and paved the way before us. We recognize not only the Patriarchs but the Matriarchs as well, for there is a feminine/masculine balance in everything. We give thanks and praise always to the Great Supreme Divine Spirit; the True Creator whom I sacredly recognize as AMEN (Amun, Amon, Amin, Anu, Aton). Honors to the Earth and the Universe whom Amen made, and all elements connected to us. She is the source and the black hole from which all of life comes from. She is that tunnel, slipstream, vortex and channel through which all life travels from and to the source.

Though man tries to spitefully pollute Mother Earth and tamper with the Universe, thanks to the Ancients whose Spirits we ask to surround and guide us on this ancient level. It is time that we reclaim what is rightfully ours as the People who respect all creation and live as Royal Priesthood. We are connected to the Ancients by Spirit no matter what earthly area you reside at. At the Amen Par Ankh, we will reason, study, and share vital information together in Love and Harmony. We respect the Sisters; Mothers of Civilization! Despite what spirituality, faith, religion, or movement you embrace, let us learn our Ancient Past and move ahead in the Ancient Future!  I hope that you join us and that it will become beneficial to you! Thank you for your kind cooperation and may the true Creator be with you all!
Ankh Seneb Wdjet (Life health Spiritual Power) to the Ancient Indigenous Ones globally! Love, Truth, Peace, Freedom, Justice, Unity, Equality, Light and Blessings!

Why Urban Farming Is The Most Important Initiative of Our Lives

Why Urban Farming is the Most Important Initiative of Our Lives

Everybody Eats! So the simple act of planting food can shape issues like economics, health, and politics at the same time. Food is essential to life. Food is the focal point of human activity all over the planet. As the Urban Farming movement grows, so grows a positive future for our children and the ecology of the planet. Amen Ankh Urban Farm (AAUF) is our name- Amen means sacred- Ankh means life. We move in the approach of reconnecting with nature, spirituality and showing accountability to the Earth environment, and revolutionary social transformation.

While most houses on my street have “lawns” with Grass, or wild growth, really cut “weeds” in their yards, our front yard and vacant lot, are sprouting, Sage, Mint, Wild garlic and onions, Dandelions, Plantain, Clover, Peppers, Zucchini, Tomatoes, Cabbage, Chicory, strawberries, and more. Agricultural Scientist and Master Gardener, George Washington Carver said: “A weed is just a flower that has been misplaced.” At AAUF, We forage the plants that are already growing In the spring to harvest natural healing essence of the season… In our lot, we plant and grow thousands of pounds of food per year on a plot of land the size of a basketball court. We grow and preserve enough fruits and vegetables to feed my family and neighbors year-round. Our house and land are part of a growing global movement of people involved in urban farming.

Growing food is a revolutionary act of rebellion in these times of food compromises.

AAUF is a community teaching resource rooted in re-connection to nature, Stewardship, conservation, sustainability, and education. AAUF’s workshops strengthen communities by strengthening the relationship between plants and people and will inspire people of various backgrounds to agree to peacefully live in right relationship to nature– living as stewards to the insects, animals, plants, forests, land, water, and air they live “with”, rediscovering the value of various traditional ways of communicating with the useful plants that surround us, and support for the re-awakening of our harmonious interconnectedness

At Amen Ankh Urban Farms, we work in reconnecting and preserving original knowledge of our Aku/Sheps (ancestors) specifically relating to the relationships of plants with hue-mans. Our teaching farm will serve as a space for the rediscovery of our relationships with community-centered educational programs. This organization focuses on the importance of preserving the ethnobotanical and cultural wisdom taught by elders, ethnobotanists, community leaders Mentors, youth, and children. Classes for adults and students of all ages include after school programs, summer wilderness adventures, weekend seminars, and retreats. The curriculum includes local native plant identification, conservation, Environmental Responsibility, organic growing, seed collecting, making teas and medicinal herbal products, wilderness survival, mystery school studies, Rite of Passage, and many others. The Green Griot Gathering at Amen Par Ankh is designed to artistically express, grow and adapt to the community base it serves as a vehicle to connect with schools, Churches, and other community forums.

We work along with EMWOT- (East Meets West of Troost) to build sustainability in the most desolate urban areas and Zip-codes that are not supported by city green zone initiatives. We have Artist-to-activist and Adenike’s Art reduce reuse recycle as a cultural-Cultivation for our youth to engage in STEAM (science technology engineering Vocational arts medicine) education through agriculture and green craft initiatives. Here are ways that Urban Agriculture will transform our world

Revived local economies. Local neighbor-to-neighbor commerce, bartering or home cottage industry generally does not happen in our communities anymore. Although there are many successful home-based businesses that have created a boom in the economy, like Apple Computers, and Marion Laboratories, and may network marketing constructs, Residential areas almost never include edible common spaces or gardens, where community exchanges might happen. The law discourages community autonomy, economy, and commerce, and even giving away free foods. Instead, most cities want to encourage you to purchase from the supermarket chain.

In my own city, the local statutes (Chapter 88-312) that permit urban farming will reinvigorate local commerce. Yet many officials do not see the vision and are allowing residential inspectors to rack up charges and fines on property owners to discourage this development, with the expectation of promoting gentrification. So, Instead of buying tomatoes, I can now plant a seed and grow and sell food or trade cucumbers for tomatoes from my neighborhood. Many are afraid that if urban farming continues to grow, it will cause a massive and positive economic eruption by introducing local Food production that would compete with the corporate mainstream on price, quality, convenience, and level of service.

Earth Stewardship

Industrial agriculture is a major source of air, land, and groundwater pollution due to the use of petroleum-based chemicals. Petrochemicals are used to fertilize, spray, and preserve food. Gasoline is used to transport food worldwide. Plastics and Styrofoam are made from petrochemicals and are used to package the food, Petrochemicals also affect pricing by foods outsourced to foreign processing and preparation sites then shipped back to the US to be warehoused. Urban farming disconnects us from fossil fuels by minimizing the transport footprint through local growing and using organic pesticides and cultivation methods.

While industrial agriculture often maneuvers to avoid paying for environmental pollution, urban farmers have to bear the ecological costs of their actions directly. This makes urban farmers better stewards of their land because they draw their nutrition from it. Rather than using inorganic chemicals that destroy soil biology, urban farming permaculture stresses sustainable organic techniques that enrich the topsoil. So we Compost using a worm culture system. We return Ash, Epsom Salt, hair, and food scraps back to the soil

Connecting to local politics. Urban farming makes it easier for people to be involved in local politics because it brings home the issues that directly affect the environment right to the local neighborhoods, like health and wellness, Youth Education, air and water quality, birds and bee populations, while crime, moves to the background. Local regulations become far more relevant to the day-to-day life of a person attempting to cultivate their own food. The growth of urban farming has resulted in legal pushes, like the California Cottage Food Act, which will allow people to legally sell certain homemade goods like jams and bread. Other neighborhood issues such as raising goats, chickens, beekeeping for pollinating plants, and the production of honey, berry bushes, and local fruit and nut tree gleaning, as well as homemade cosmetics. Fluoride and the chlorination of water, Windmills, and Solar energy, are also in the sights of urban farmers and environmentalists.

A Revolution for Nutrition Awareness of the negative health effects of GMO food from the industrialized food market is a big reason why urban farmers grow their own food. When you feed your products to your family, you’re less likely to use poisons. Local food is the freshest and has the best flavor, and nutrient retention, because it goes through less transportation, preserving, and processing. As the urban farming movement grows, it will mean more access to nutritious local foods and more time spent doing exercise and physical work of growing and cultivation. This could result in more intellectual capacity in our youth, more energy and vitality, Lower Crime, less obesity, less chronic disease, and decreased healthcare spending.

Blossoming of re-community exchange. Urban farming is a lifestyle inherently centered on the community. Growing food is, after all, a cooperative effort. In my own community, I see that the knowledge of how and what to grow is exchanged, seeds are swapped, labor is shared, and the harvest is traded. Home cottage industry grows, as urban farming grows, a stronger interdependence within communities is likely to result as local food systems bring more community interaction into people’s daily lives. Mega-Corporations had largely killed small-town ways of life, which were essential for the re-circulation of wealth, by destroying small businesses, Mom and Pop stores, and driving Black and small farmers off of their land. Now, successful Cooperatives, microloans, seed capital systems, and bartering and exchange is growing.

The Influences of Urban Agriculture is significant because food is a central necessity that affects everything and everybody at once and more people live in cities than in rural areas. Seeds of change are already being planted in our children, like my students across the world. These seeds will grow and blossom, where the need to demand more local food will be essential so that the market for local urban- organically grown produce will expand. We also need to put pressure on the City, County, State legal systems to allow easier local trade and more local food production.

Imagine if we grew food everywhere there is grass or so-called rank weeds. Even looking at alternatives like Aquaponics, Vertical and Rooftop Farming, and Aeroponics. Every community is a local food economy of small home cottage industries, waiting to come to life. The answer to climate change, the health crisis, and the recession economy is right outside your door. I’ll meet you at the Farm!
